Conservation Programs : Responsible Appliance Recycling Program
Useful parts will be recycled and dangerous PCBs and ozone-damaging CFCs will be recovered, so you can be friendly to the environment at the same time. Through our Responsible Appliance Recycling Program, ARCA will pick up your older, spare appliances at no cost to you. Refrigerators and freezers must be in working order, and should be plugged in 24 hours (or more) before pickup. The appliances can be in the garage, or in the home, but no more than one flight of stairs off of the main floor. Room air conditioners and dehumidifiers are only picked up in conjunction with a qualifying refrigerator or freezer. Scheduling a refrigerator or freezer for pick-up is fast and easy. Cash-Back Rewards are now available on ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators and freezers through the State Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP). Customers must provide proof that the old refrigerator or freezer was taken out of service and properly recycled. For a copy of the recycling certificate click here.
